Proper goat care is important and part of that care is proper hoof trimming. Olsen’s for Healthy Animals wants to help you learn how to properly trim the hooves of your goats.
Some tips from the video:
- Consider heel growth as hooves can grow quickly
- Trim the heel as well as the toe
- If you have a goat that is going down onto its rear in the pasture it could be a sign of improper hoof trimming.
- The toe of the hoof should be one-and-a-half times longer than the heel.
